Market and Public Opinion Research (MPOR) Unit was founded in 2011 by the Departments of Economics and Political Science of the University of Crete. It's aim is to provide custom-designed, individually tailored market or public opinion research services to a broad range of industries, sectors or regions. Bridging the gap between academic research and real market conditions, MPOR provides valuable insights to support decision making in businesses from increasing their profitability, to launching new products or exploring new markets.  Drawing on a range of qualitative and quantitative research techniques MPOR focus on identifying critical improvements to: 

  • Understand market conditions revealing essential information like market size, market trends, supply or demand information, or competitor positioning
  • Assist companies both to optimize products, services and solutions into better conversion, and to radically change the fundamentals, assisting throughout the new product development lifecycle
  • Understand people's opinion and their perspectives (including customers, stakeholders and employees) so that firms or public analysts can anticipate their needs and exceed their expectations.

One of the most important goals is to enhance learning activities for both graduate and undergraduate students. To that extent TIME students can take full advatnage of MPOR either in their thesis development or during class assignments. Accurate and thorough information is the foundation of all successful business ventures because it provides a wealth of information about prospective and existing customers, the competition, and the industry in general. It allows business owners to determine the feasibility of a business before committing substantial resources to the venture. To that extent MPOR resources are available for TIME students.
